Democrats, Republicans dueling over canned goods.

Now for some positive news about the political parties. The Mason County Democratic Party has issued a challenge to the Mason County Republicans to see which party can collect the most canned goods for the Lakeshore Food Club. The losing party will need to donate an addition $50 to the food club. The collection deadline is March 8.

Democrats can bring canned goods to the next two party meetings, Feb. 7 and March 7, 7 p.m., at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison Street. Republicans can head further north and drop off items on the front porch of 309 N. Harrison Street.
