LUDINGTON – The following were sentenced recently in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

– Wesley Donald Hackert, 32, of 109 E.. Foster St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 18 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for 24 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; and $8.99 in restitution. This matter runs concurrently with his parole violation case. One count of disorderly person – drunk was dismissed.

– Daniel Robert Wing, 48, of 2458 S. Stephens Rd., Custer Township, was found guilty Dec. 18 of operating a vehicle while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) twice a week for one year; no alcohol/marijuana; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests; and $895 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of operating with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .17 or more and open intoxicants were dismissed.

– Joshua Joseph Clements, 31, of 415 Bridge St., Grand Rapids, was found guilty Dec. 17 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; no contact with the victim; and $285 in fines and costs.

– Daniel Scott Remenak, 24, of 203 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 11 of operating a vehicle while impaired and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next Victims’ Impact Panel (VIP) session; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $895 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Zachery Scott Wehner, 25, no address listed, was found guilty Dec. 11 of assault and battery and was sentenced to 31 days in jail with credit for 31 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs.

– Lynette Kay Ellis, 49, of 3679 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty Dec. 11 of larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to continue current counseling; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and perform 60 hours of community service or pay $595 in fines and costs. One count of receding and concealing stolen property $200-$1,000 was dismissed.

– Samantha Rae Figger, 25, of 6588 S. Astorrd, Baldwin, pleaded “no contest” Dec. 11 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse and/or mental health evaluation and follow recommendations; no contact with the victim or the victim’s children; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $485 in fines and costs.

– Tyler Thomas Martin, 23, of 6816 W. Victory Dr., Hamlin Township, was found guilty Dec. 11 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend the next VIP session; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $1,095 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

– Tomas Antonio Lopez-Carrillo, 29, of 501 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 11 of reckless driving and was sentenced to 36 days in jail with credit for 36 days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $595 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of transporting open intoxicants, OWI and operating with a BAC of . 17 or higher were dismissed.

– Christopher Lloyd Rosenow, 40, of 451 W. Free Soil Rd., Grant Township, was found guilty Dec. 20 of driving while license suspended and was sentenced to $285 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Michael Eugene Russell, 45, of 2415 N. 13th St., Sheridan Township, was found guilty Dec. 17 of excess bait – over the legal limit and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $185 in fines and costs.

– Richard Lee Beck, 45, of 212 E. Second St., Ludington, was found guilty Dec. 20 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 30 days discretionary jail for one year; and $225 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Randall William Hansen, 59, of 4688 W. US 10, Amber Township, was found guilty Dec. 20 of using/loaning a kill tag and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Alexander Davidson Haats, 28, of 1606 13th St., Moorhead, Minnesota, one count of marijuana possession was dismissed Nov. 14. “The interests of justice no longer require prosecution,”
court records state.

– Layla Renee Lefevre, 19, of 917 N. Lavinia St., Ludington, one count of receiving/concealing stolen property less than $200 was dismissed Dec. 19 “per plea agreement.”

– Brooke Lynn Englebrecht, 25, homeless, one count of marijuana possession was dismissed Dec. 20. “The interests of justice no longer require prosecution.”

– Thayne David Patterson, 32, of 1039 N. William St., Ludington, one count of controlled substance delivery less than 50 grams was dismissed Dec. 26. “The questioned substances have been further identified as not a controlled substance,” his court file states.
