Realtors donate to Neighbor to Neighbor program.

LUDINGTON — The Mason-Oceana-Manistee Board of Realtors presented a donation of $1,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Mason County on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The funds are being used for the Neighbor to Neighbor home repair project that is currently underway on two houses in the 600 block of North Rowe Street. Jamie Healy, executive director of Habitat for Humanity, said the funds are greatly appreciated and will be used to help the homeowners make improvements to their houses.

N2N is an exterior home preservation program that offers painting, carpentry, landscaping, weather stripping, siding, roofing, door/window replacement and minor exterior repairs for homeowners in need.  The program helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability, and family circumstances who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. In its third year, the program is designed to revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, encourage connections within the community, and most importantly, help preserve affordable housing stock

“Neighbor to Neighbor is about connecting people and restoring homes through simple acts of kindness so that homeowners can once again live in a safe and decent home,” said Healy. “This program would not be possible without volunteers, contractors and donors who are willing to go out of their way to care for those around us and greet people just beyond their doorstep.”
