PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce recently awarded several local organizations with $17,600, funds raised during the 2018 Ludington Gus Macker 3-on-3 Charity Basketball Tournament. The June event, held at Stearns Park, included 800 teams.

“We could not host this tournament without the help of these organizations, “ said Chamber President Kathy Maclean.  “They assist in setup and teardown, clean-up, manning the parking lots, running the brackets tent and much more.  Local sponsorship dollars allow us to make a donation to each of these groups which, in turn, helps them to fund their programs.”

The Ludington Gus Macker is one of the longest-standing tournaments and will return to the city, June 15-16, 2019.

Organizations receiving funds included Mason County Central Schools cross country, Scottville Youth Football, City of Ludington, Emanuel Lutheran Church 4-Corners Youth Group, Family Resource Center, Ludington High School athletics, and Ludington Police Department reserve unit.
