LASD superintendent encourages district residents to take facilities’ survey.

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members:

As the District looks to the future of educating our community’s children, it’s important to understand and plan for how our district will continue to provide the best possible educational learning environments for student development and success.

Diverse student instructional needs have expanded since the original construction of the District’s current facilities, and may be better supported with physical and academic environments that inspire 21st century student learning. Further, the demand to connect relevant and meaningful student learning to the community, the world of work, and post secondary training opportunities is critical to the continued success of our school and community. Our facilities play a critical role.

We have developed some questions for our community to answer to help us in this process as we move forward. We encourage community stakeholders to take a few moments to complete the District’s survey that can be found at the link below:

Paper copies of the survey will also be available in each of the District’s buildings beginning on Thursday, October 4, 2018, and can be returned to any District building office or the Central Business Office. The deadline for completing the survey is November 1, 2018. The District values the community’s input as it is very important to this process.

After listening to the community, the District has scheduled another community forum on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Ludington High School Library. This forum will review the concepts that have been discussed at previous community forums, providing those that have not been able to make previous community forums an opportunity to hear about each of the proposals and to provide input in person to the District. This event will also be streamed live on the District’s Facebook page, and questions will be taken through Facebook as a way to connect with the community and for those that can not make the forum in person, but who still want to listen in to the forum. We hope that you will participate in this process to learn more about the process!

Ludington Area Schools is committed to listening to constituent stakeholders, while also addressing the 21st century learning needs of our students and greater school community. We appreciate and value the feedback of all District stakeholders through this process. Go Orioles!
