MCC board to consider new hires Monday.
SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central Board of Education is expected to hire three new teachers and three new coaches when it meets Monday, Aug. 20.
Teachers include:
- Jason Stanick, secondary science teacher (high school and middle school).
- Jonathan Hackey, middle school social studies teacher.
- Janelle Kelly, middle school English language arts teacher.
Coaches include:
- Kevin Kimes, junior varsity football head coach.
- Ken Kimes, JV football assistant coach.
- Patrick Nelson, varsity football assistant coach.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the high school conference room.
Upcoming events for the school district include:
– Aug. 20, building offices open to the public, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– Aug. 27, freshman orientation, 1 p.m. ; freshman parent meeting, 7 p.m.; sophomore, junior, senior schedule pickup, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– Aug. 28, Upper Elementary, back to school night, 6 p.m.
– Aug. 28, Scottville Elementary, back to school night, 5 p.m.
– Aug. 29, Middle school back to school night, sixth grade full session, 5:45 to 8 p.m.; seventh and eighth grades, open house, 7 p.m.
– Aug. 30, Victory Early Childhood Center orientation, 5 to 8 p.m.
– Sept. 4, first day of school.
