PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Members of the Western Michigan Fair Association board and the Mason County Commission gathered Tuesday at the Mason County Fairgrounds grandstands to announce the final payment of the roof replacement project. Kirk Meyers of the fair board said the previous roof was removed about eight years ago. At that time, the fair association borrowed $160,000 from the county to replace it. The final payment of $22,907.99 has been paid, allowing for grand stand attendees to enjoy events under cover.
