LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

– Nathan Scott Yost, 22, of 506 N. Rowe St., Ludington, pleaded “no contest” July 17 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; outpatient treatment; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend the next session of the Victims’ Impact Panel (VIP); no alcohol/drugs; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drugs tests; and $1,070 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Izeek Joe Ratliff, 20, of 312 S. Main St., Scottville, was found guilty July 17 of reckless driving and third-offense minor in possession of alcohol (MIP) and was sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for 60 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drugs tests; and $725 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and second-offense MIP were dismissed.

– John Ignatius Grocholski, 22, of 42 High Bridge Rd., Wellston, was found guilty July 17 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next VIP session; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $895 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Branden Arlie Straub, 29, of 179 N. Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty of controlled substance use and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for two years; outpatient treatment; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; may perform 25 hours of community service as a credit towards fines and costs; and $595 in fines and costs. One count of cocaine possession was dismissed.

– Esmeralda Villeda, 39, of 310 S. Scott St., Scottville, was found guilty of malicious destruction of property (MDOP) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; $1,624.17 in restitution; and $595 in fines and costs. Charges of MDOP over $1,000 and assault and battery were dismissed.

– Phillip Michael Carlson, 37, of 828 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty July 17 of domestic violence and was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for 27 days served; outpatient counseling; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must obtain Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM) pursuant to probation agent’s orders; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $745 in fines and costs.

– Larry William Bogus, 25, of 308 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty July 17 of OWI and failure to report an accident and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next VIP session; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $1,387.50 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of operating with a high BAC and failure to stop after a property damage accident were dismissed.

– Alan David Bystrom, 33, of 8808 N. 126th Ave., Hart, was found guilty July 17 of OWI and was sentenced to eight days in jail with credit for eight days served; AHSE; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next VIP session; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $1,095 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of marijuana possession and open intoxicants were dismissed.
