Invasive plant species walking tour to be held at Cartier Park.
LUDINGTON — Members of the North Country Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area will be holding a walking tour through Cartier Park on Tuesday, July 31, to introduce members of the public to a variety of invasive plant species. The walk is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will begin on the northeast side of the park, at the end of Rath Avenue.
Participants will be taught how to identify invasive species and how to report them. After the walk is completed there will be a chance for some hands on work with an equipment demonstration on how to use an up-rooter tool and cut-stump treatment to remove oriental bittersweet and buckthorn.
