Spartan River Run will debut as part of 10 & 31 Celebration.

SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central Educational Foundation (MCCEF) and Paddle Sports Factory Outlet are organizing the inaugural Spartan River Run, a five mile race down the Pere Marquette River on Saturday, July 7. The race is part of the newly former Scottville 10 & 31 Celebration. Participates must be 18 years of age or older and are responsible for providing their own vessel, life jacket, and paddle(s). The $30 participant registration fee ($25 if paid in advance) includes breakfast, lunch, and awards. 

 

Racers will check in at Riverside Park on July 7 starting at 9 a.m. Paddlers will be served a light breakfast and then will be given their start time assignment. Races will begin at 10:30 a.m. from the boat launch at Custer Bridge. Vessel and racer transportation will be available if needed.

Lunch for participants will be available starting at noon, courtesy of MCCEF and the Mason County Eastern food truck . Spectators are welcome to purchase meals as well. The award ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. with vessel, gender, and age divisions.
