Fire causes significant damage to PM Twp. house.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A fire that may have been smoldering for several days caused significant damage to the Donna Liebetreus residence at 1173 N. Ellis Street Wednesday, June 6. Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Ludington Fire Department were dispatched to the residence about 7:45 a.m. as a result of a neighbor calling 911 saying smoke was seen coming from the house. The homeowner was not home.

PMFD Fire Chief Larry Gaylord said smoke and fire damage was spread throughout the interior of the house. He added that he was unsure where the fire had started, what had started it and how long it had been going.

Also responding to the scene was Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
