LUDINGTON — Ludington City Council is expected take action on the appointment of Tom Ezdebski as interim treasurer when it meets tonight for its regular meeting. Current elected treasurer Linda Rogers will retire effective July 15.

Rogers’ term expires Dec. 31, 2020 and the interim treasurer will serve until the end of the term and would need to seek election in 2020. Two people applied for the position, but the other person was not a resident of the city, which is a requirement since it is ultimately an elected post.

If appointed, the starting salary will be $50,000 with an increase to $51,000 by Dec. 1, 2018.

City Manager John Shay, along with the personnel committee, are recommending the Council appoint Ezdebski.

City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 400 S. Harrison St.

While Rogers’ official last day will by July 15, her last day of being in the office will be June 13 due to accumulated vacation time.
