Motorcyclist injured in Pere Marquette Twp. crash.#MasonCountyNews.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old Pere Marquette Township man was injured following a single vehicle crash at the intersection of King and Oakwood drives. The crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. According to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. Jeremy King, the motorcyclist was southbound on Oakwood Drive and appeared to have lost control of the Honda CRF motorcycle as he attempted to go through the westbound curve. King said speed and alcohol were factors in causing the crash.

The intersection is on the Mason County Airport property line.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, King said, and was unconscious when first responders arrived on scene. The man was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. Sheriff’s office crash investigators were called to the scene.

Responding to the crash were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation.
