LUDINGTON — City Treasurer Linda Rogers has announced her retirement, effective July 15, 2018. Rogers has been the elected treasurer for 10 years.

“The timing of my exit follows the successful end of the 2017 property tax year and settlement of my tax records with the county treasurer, leaving a clean start for my replacement,” she wrote in a letter to Mayor Kaye Holman and City Manager John Shay. “I will assist with the transition as much as possible and will leave my personal contact information with the interim treasurer.

“In retrospect, I cannot believe how quickly this past 10 years has flown by,”“I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve as city treasurer, and would like to think that my work here has been beneficial to the city and its residents. The city has great leadership and an exciting future ahead, and I wish you well.”

Rogers said accumulated vacation time will mean that her last working day in the office will be June 13.

Rogers’ term expires Dec. 31, 2020. The city has posted the job for interim treasurer. The interim treasurer will serve until the end of the term and would need to seek election in 2020. The successful candidate must be a resident of the city of Ludington, for at least one year prior to the time of the appointment. Deadline to submit resumes is May 14. Click here for details.
