MCC PTC asking for public help with box top collections.

SCOTTVILLE — One of the main fund raising projects for Mason County Central’s Elementary PTC is its boxtop collection project. Collecting box tops helps the organization raise money to fund projects such as field trips, March is Reading Month books for students grades K-5, playground equipment upgrades, iPad/Chromebook workstations, and several other projects.

Parents of students are encouraged to save boxtops and deliver them to either elementary building, but members of the public have the option to collect and drop off at Scottville businesses as well. “We get a lot of parents who collect boxtops, which is really appreciated and helps the program a lot,” said Kate Sanford, a PTC board member. “But, we really need the support of the public as well.”

Collection sites include: Smith & Eddy Insurance, North Country Café, Scottville Area Senior Center, and the Scottville branch of the Mason County District Library.

Parents of elementary-aged children at MCC schools are encouraged to participate in the PTC, which meets the third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at Scottville Upper Elementary library.
