LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

  • Brandon Charles Hathaway, 34, of 407 N. Thomas St., Scottville, was found guilty Feb. 20 of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; and $535 in fines and costs. One count of third-degree fleeing a police officer was dismissed.
  • Rebekah Lou Malburg, 31, of 1150 N. Brandy Lane, Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty Feb. 20, 2018 of operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next session of the Victim Impact Panel (VIP); must have a substance abuse evaluation and follow recommendations; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests; must complete substance abuse counseling with Community Mental Health (CMH); and $1,025 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of marijuana possession was dismissed.
  • Kari Ann Nummerdor, 47, of 5926 N. Lincoln Rd., Hamlin Township, was found guilty Feb. 20 of disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have combined substance abuse/domestic assault evaluation and follow recommendations; no contact with the victim; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $285 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense domestic violence was dismissed.
  • Thomas James Burk, 45, of 220 Gibson Rd., Walhalla, was found guilty Feb. 21 of doemstic violence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend AA twice a week for six months; no alcohol/drugs; subject to random PBTs; and $785 in fines and costs. One count interfering with an electronic communications device was dismissed.
  • Douglas Todd Blade, 48, of 505 Whitten Ave., Hicksville, Ohio, was found guilty Feb. 20 of marijuana possession and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; no alcohol/drugs; and $535 in fines and costs.
  • Samantha Marie Wingate, 29, of 506 N. Thomas St., Scottville, was found guilty Feb. 20 of operating a vehicle while impaired and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend next VIP session; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $895 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Andres Cantu, 55, homeless, pleaded “no contest” Feb. 26 to disorderly person – public intoxication and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; must report to the court the last Friday of every month at 9 a.m.; and $285 in fines and costs.
  • Sheryl Dee Schiavone, 60, of 702 N. Rowe St., Ludington, was found guilty of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $335 in fines and costs.

Dismissal

  • Jeremy Adam O’Brien, 32, of 3614 N. Amber Rd., Victory Township, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Feb. 26 due to the “interests of justice per the wishes of the victim,” according to court records.
