LUDINGTON — A 54-year-old Ludington woman was sentenced to one year in jail for a conviction of felonious assault in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Robin Rae Bakies, of 709 E. Foster St., Apt. 1, was arrested last July by the Ludington Police Department on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence. The domestic violence charge was dismissed.

Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola cited Bakies’ “long criminal history” that has a “common thread that consists of alcohol, drugs and violence.”

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 12-24 months.

“I apologize,” Bakies said to Judge Susan K. Sniegowski, who also ordered probation for two years. Bakies received credit for 115 days served in jail.
