Driver arrested after vehicle strikes tree.


GRANT TOWNSHIP — The driver of a Ford Taurus X was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after the vehicle crashed into a tree on Freeman Road between US 31 and LaSalle Road Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Dispatch information stated the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was 41-years-old and was complaining of a chest injury. The driver refused medical treatment at the scene and was given a field sobriety test by a Michigan State Police trooper. Following the examination, he was arrested.

Responding to the scene were MSP, Grant Township Fire Department and Life EMS.
