Smith & Eddy’s Alisha Christensen enjoys a good challenge.

LUDINGTON — Alisha Christensen is a competitive person who enjoys a good challenge. She follows that philosophy when competing in running races and when working with insurance customers at Smith & Eddy Insurance.

“I like the competition and challenge to push myself as far as I can,” she says. “This relates two-fold to the insurance industry as it is a challenging and ever-changing career.” In both arenas preparation and education are key, she says. “Striving to find life’s healthy balance daily is challenging, but in the end it makes you a stronger person both physically and mentally.”

Alisha, who grew up in Riverton Township and graduated from Mason County Central Schools, has worked for Smith & Eddy for the past six years. She started working in the old Scottville office before the new state-of-the-art building was built at the corner of Main and First streets. She now is based out of the office at the corner of Rath Avenue and Loomis Street in downtown Ludington.

Working at Smith & Eddy means also giving back to the community. It’s not a requirement as much as a philosophy.

“Smith & Eddy makes it a priority to give back to our community both in sponsorships and time volunteering. I am privileged to be part of this team.”

Alisha gives back by attending the monthly Downtown Ludington meetings, which enables her to stay current on downtown improvement projects, and to also volunteer on those projects. She has also participated in the Friday Night Live committee and the Lakestride Half Marathon.

“I enjoy volunteering my time to help make our Ludington events successes,” she says.

She also wants to make sure her customers have the best successes with insurance. She is a certified professional insurance agent with 10 years of experience.
