‘Intoxicated’ man arrested at Whiskey Creek for damaging camper, trying to ‘pick fights.’

LOGAN TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old Muskegon man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies Saturday night, Aug. 26, at the Whiskey Creek Campground after deputies were dispatched to the scene of “an intoxicated person who had been attempting to pick fights with other campers and who had reportedly damaged a camper trailer awning and door,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
The man was arrested at 10:22 p.m. on charges of assault and damaging property, the sheriff said.

Friday, Aug. 25, 2017:
– 6:40 a.m., one-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 south of Millerton Road, Sherman Township.
– 9:18 a.m., warrant arrest and possession of marijuana arrest, US 31 at the northbound rest area, Summit Township. A 23-year-old Manistee man was arrested following a 911 call reporting a “disturbance” at the rest area. The warrant was issued in Lake County for charges of assault and damaging property.
– 10:22 a.m., probation violation arrest, 6200 block of South Brye Road, Summit Township. A 25-year-old Ludington woman and a 25-year-old Ludington man were both arrested for probation violation.
– 8:45 p.m., one-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injuries, First Street east of Brye Road, Amber Township. A vehicle left the road and struck several trees, and the driver fled the scene on foot.
Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017:
– 5:28 a.m., one-vehicle crash, no injuries, Schoenherr Road north of US 10, Custer Township. A vehicle struck a deer, and ran off the road striking a barn.
– 6:40 a.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Custer Road north of Fountain Road, Sherman Township.
– 8:40 a.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Scottville Road north of Meisenheimer Road, Eden Township.
– 12:43 p.m., gas drive-off, $30.01 in fuel stolen, Scottville Shell gas station, 100 block of East State Street, City of Scottville.
– 12:59 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 and Custer Road, Village of Custer.
– 5:18 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 and Nelson Road, Pere Marquette Township.
