Photographer Sue Brown receives national recognition.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Sue Brown, of Photography by Sue Brown participated in the Photographers of America’s 2017 International Photographic Competition on Jul 30, 2017. A panel of 46 jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 6000 total submitted entries. Brown submitted four photographic art pieces into the annual competition. Two of her art pieces have been accepted into the prestigious Loan Collection while the other two art pieces were accepted into the General Print Collection. Due to the high scores of the images Brown submitted she was awarded a gold medal.

Brown’s images will be on display in the Grand Ole Opry Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. from Jan 14-16, 2018 alongside other top photographers’ works from the competition.

“Seeing all the beautiful art from all over the world always inspires, and impresses me.” Sue said.

The International Photographic Exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers and several photographic associations.

Brown also received several awards at the Professional Photographers of Michigan 2017 convention in Dearborn. The PPM named Brown the runner up to the Michigan Photographer of the Year, earning the Award of Excellence at the annual awards ceremony. She additionally received an award for the top image and also third place in the Portrait Division.

Brown also received the Lexjet Award of Excellence for her first place portrait entry. The PPM is dedicated to the professional development of photographers throughout Michigan. “It was a true honor to receive these awards. Being a member of the state, and national professional photographers’ organizations helps to hone my skills, and challenges my creativity. The state has so many talented leaders in the Professional Photography industry it is an honor to be among them,” Brown said.

Sue and Steve Brown are the owners of Photography by Sue Brown located at 1676 W Hansen Rd., in Amber Township. The studio offers artistic and creative portrait photography services.
