Patriotic concert scheduled for July 2.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The United Methodist Church of Ludington Choir with the West Shore Community College Choir, in collaboration with area vocalists and musicians, will be presenting the eighth annual “Let Freedom Ring!” patriotic concert on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the United Methodist Church, 5810 W. Bryant Road.

As in years past, the event provides an array of inspirational music — from traditional to contemporary — that reflects  the unique American spirit of freedom  while paying tribute to the men and women in uniform who have defended and continue to defend these freedoms  to this very day.

The performance features a 60-member vocal ensemble, backed by a 15-piece band and a host of gifted vocal soloists. Directors include Becky Sopha, Lew Wilson, and Elliot Plummer with narration provided by The Rev. Ron Iris.

Featured performers will include Ron Iris, John Fuhrman, Eliott Plummer, the Ludington High School saxophone quartet, with members Kyler Keck, Mallory Wietrzkowski, Tyler Babe, Mason Marks, and a special children’s choir.

Two shows are scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m.

A free-will offering will be 100% dedicated to benefit the Mason County Veterans Endowment Fund.
