The following were recently sentenced in 79th District Court:

-Adam Lee Passarelli, 28, no address listed, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to disorderly person – jostling and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must obtain anger management counseling; no contact with the victim; and $285 in fines/costs. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

-Elijah Knight Kadrovach, 33, of 4055 N. Jebavy Dr., Hamlin Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 36 days in jail with credit for 36 days served; one year discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact weekend; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must obtain substance abuse counseling; driver’s license suspended for 180 days and restricted for 150 days; and $1,280 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). Charges of transporting an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle and driving while license suspended (DWLS) were dismissed.

-Kristin Brooke Hoffman, 26, of 6736 Potter Rd., Bear Lake, pleaded guilty Apr. 19 to disorderly person – disturbing the peace and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must forfeit weapon; and $285 in fines/costs. A dangerous weapon charge was dismissed.

-Deven Benson Garcia, 21, of 2833 Hansen Rd., Amber Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a vehicle until properly licensed; no drugs/alcohol; and $575 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of violating a restricted license was dismissed.

-Lisa Kay Spice, 43, of 10320 Caberfae Hwy., Manistee, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to second-degree retail fraud (shoplifting) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year discretionary jail for one year; $107.02 in restitution; and $665 in fines/costs. An additional count of second-degree retail fraud was dismissed.

-Nicolas Jon Kasdorf, 51, of 675 Melrose, Plainwell, pleaded guilty Apr. 21 to failure to display a valid license and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must not operate a vehicle until legally able to do so; 12 months of probation; and $275 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Anna Marie Hawke, 41, of 8542 N. Custer Rd., Freesoil Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to attempted third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 45 days discretionary jail for one year; and $285 in fines/costs.

-Doyle Paul Kenyon, 20, of 5634 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to driving while license not valid and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served and $225 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Nathen Scott Spence, 22, of 802 ½ E. Loomis St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Apr. 18 to being a passenger with an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 30 days discretionary jail for one year; 12 months of probation; and $265 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-David Edward Organ, 62, of 912 N. James St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Apr. 21 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $325 in fines/costs.

-David Dean Jorgensen, 36, of 4994 Plum Valley Rd. NW, Rapid City, pleaded guilty Apr. 21 to having an open intoxicant on an ORV and was sentenced to pay $265 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Gary Lacy Schrader, 68, of 329 Second Ave., Manistee, had a charge of delivery/manufacturing marijuana dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 19. According to court documents, “Defendant appears to have the ability to present prima facie evidence of a Section 8 defense. Further prosecution would not be an efficient use of limited resources.”

-Emily Barbara Bunnell, 33, of 9956 Kendaville Rd., Coral, had two counts of moving violation causing serious impairment of bodily function dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 18. According to court records, “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.”

-Sheila Evink, 44, of 2226 Third St., Fennville, had a charge of operating while license suspended dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 18. According to court records, “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of allowing a person to drive in violation.”
