LUDINGTON — Raymond David Spyker, 33, of Amber Township has been arraigned in 79th District Court on the felony charge of animal killing/torture. Spyker was arrested on Saturday by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office in the 1500 block of West US 10-31 in Amber Township. According to Sheriff Kim Cole, the sheriff’s office had been called to a domestic argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a Hamlin Township residence on March 4.

“The girlfriend left the house and when she returned later she found the cat severely injured,” Cole said. “The cat was getting treatment by a veterinarian and ended up losing its leg. The cat has survived, however. The prosecutor issued a warrant and Mr. Spyker was arrested Saturday night.”

Spyker has been released on bail of 10% of $5,000.
