LUDINGTON — United Way of Mason County is accepting request for proposals for the 2017-2018 funding cycle (April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018) from local non-profit organizations that are focusing on helping children to achieve their potential and working with individuals and families to be financially stable and independent and improving people’s health.   Last year, United Way of Mason County awarded funding to 17 local programs and initiatives.

The Request for Proposal document can be accessed by going to www.uwmasoncounty.org and selecting the “forms” icon at the top of the page.  Also included, is an outline of the eligibility criteria, timeline flow chart and instructions for how to complete the proposal.   All proposals must be received by Friday, February 17, 2017 to be considered for funding.

According to Lynne Russell, executive director, local volunteers will review each of the request for proposals submitted and recommend to the United Way of Mason County Board of Directors how the dollars should be awarded.  When volunteers review the proposals, they are looking for the quality of services being delivered, achievement of identified outcomes, formation of partnerships with similar type organizations and fiscal responsibility.

“United Way of Mason County will use the dollars raised from this year’s campaign to award funds through the Request for Proposal process.  To date, we have raised 83% of our $350,000.00 goal with pledges totaling $290,000.00,” Russell stated.

For more information about submitting a request for proposal or making a contribution to this year’s campaign call the United Way of Mason County office at 843-8593.
