PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Six 50-inch TVs, two laptops and an Xbox game were stolen from Aarons rent-to-own store on US 10 after an outside cinder block wall was smashed through a former church to gain access to the merchandise, according to Michigan State Police Sgt. Charles Hockanson.

An intruder/intruders broke through the outside wall of the adjacent property of the former Life Change Church and then entered Aaron’s by breaking through another wall, Hockanson said.

The crime, which occurred Thursday night Dec. 22 or Friday morning Dec. 23, was not filmed on surveillance video, the sergeant said, because “no cameras were in operation.”

The case remains under investigation.
