LUDINGTON — Downtown Ludington is set for its annual New Year’s Eve ball drop. The ball is 6-feet in diameter and contains 6,000 LED lights and is set up at the intersection of Ludington Avenue and James Street.

The evening’s festivities begin at 9 p.m. with music and dancing in the street. There will also be a beer tent featuring domestic and craft beers along with wine and champagne.

The ball will begin to be lowered at 11:59 p.m. Fireworks will begin immediately following the midnight ball drop. Fireworks are compliments of West Shore Bank, House of Flavors, and Oxy Chemical.

Party goers can purchase 22 ounce light up mugs and tokens ahed of time here, or purchase that evening.

On New Year’s Day the New Year’s Resolution 5K Run, presented by Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. downtown; registration begins at 10 a.m.
