LUDINGTON — A photograph by Jim Bowman has been selected to be the cover of the 2017 city calendar.

One photo is chosen each year to grace the cover of the calendar. This year the winning photo depicts a sailboat in the Ludington harbor.

“This photo was so eye catching that it was an instant consideration for the cover”, said Community Development Director Heather Tykoski. “The photo evokes a feeling of the carefree days of summer; it embodies so much of what we are as a Harbor town.”

The 2015 Calendar Cover was taken by Photographer Russ Miller and shows an aerial view of the Ludington harbor. The 2016 cover was taken by Jaime Loney and depicted our Historic S.S. Badger.

“Not only is this calendar a useful tool for our residents with helpful hints, meeting times, and important information, it is also a way to highlight the beauty of our area and showcase the work of some talented photographers who capture this beauty”, said Tykoski. “I have a feeling these calendars may become collector’s items.”

Calendars will be delivered to each property via the US Post Office in January. An online version will be made available at that time as well.
