PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 32-year-old Ludington man was arrested by Mason County sheriff deputies Friday, Nov. 18, at 1:14 p.m. for damaging property after he reportedly “became upset and loud” inside the Social Security Office on North Jebavy Drive “over what he felt was unfair treatment,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“When asked to leave, he allegedly punched the wall with his fist causing damage to the wall,” the sheriff said.

Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016:

  • 5:35 a.m., (MCSO), a 27-year-old Grandville man and a 24-year-old Comstock Park woman left the Ludington State Park in Hamlin Township in a 14-foot boat to duck hunt on Hamlin Lake when their boat took on water and sank, according to Cole. The couple was able to beach the boat but were unaware of where they were. The two were located by two deputies approximately a half mile away from the boat launch. They were uninjured.
