Motorcylist air lifted following Eden Twp. crash.

EDEN TOWNSHIP — A 78-year-old Nunica man was airlifted from Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital to a Grand Rapids hospital following a crash Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred when the man was traveling on Hawley Road west of Custer Road and apparently attempted to avoid a deer, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The motorcycle went into a ditch and the drive was ejected.

The man was initially transported by ambulance to Ludington hospital then later flown to Grand Rapids by AeroMed helicopter.

Responding to the scene was Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Custer Fire Department, and Life EMS. Initially Riverton Fire Department was also dispatched, but was canceled en-route.
