LUDINGTON — Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital has named Randall L. Kelley as its new president. He will officially assume his new role on September 26. His first day onsite at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital will be Wednesday, September 28.

Kelley has served as president or CEO at several hospitals during his career and most recently was working at Daudlin De Beaupre, a health care executive search firm.

“Spectrum Health and Ludington Hospital board leaders interviewed a variety of highly qualified candidates to lead the hospital,” said Ken Rocco, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital board chair. “Randall Kelley has extensive leadership experience across a wide range of health care systems and independent hospitals.”

Kelley replaces Mark Vipperman, who left the position in April.

Among Kelley’s varied leadership positions in the health care industry, he most recently served as interim CEO of Tenet Health—Hi Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, California; interim CEO of Tenet Health—St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee;  president/CEO of CaroMont Health System in Gastonia, North Carolina; and CEO of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. Early in his career he worked at three Michigan hospitals.

“I’m incredibly pleased about the opportunity at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital,” said Kelley. “It’s a fine facility in one of the country’s top health systems and a very appealing area of the state. I look forward to my association with the physicians, staff, volunteers and board members at the hospital. I also look forward to building relationships with community members in Ludington and the surrounding area as well as with colleagues across the Spectrum Health system. My wife, Kathy, and I are both Michigan natives so we’re thrilled to be coming home to Michigan.”

Kelley has a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University of Michigan. Additionally, he is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
