LUDINGTON — Ludington High School’s Hawley Gymnasium has recently undergone a small change that will have a big impact on Oriole fans. Railings, known as “p-railings” have been installed on the majority of the bleachers, which will allow those with difficulty climbing the bleachers more security.

“A few years ago we installed plexiglass to the upper deck of the gym for safety reasons,” said Athletic Director Randy Fountain. “In doing so, we cut off access to the lower level from the upper level, which prevented our older visitors from easily navigating up and down the bleachers.”

The district’s sinking fund paid for most of the project at a cost of $12,400.
