The Mason County Neighbor to Neighbor project is a grassroots effort by local organizations to clean up blighted neighborhoods. The program launched earlier this summer with work on two homes on Court Street in Ludington.

The two homes were purchased by House of Flavors manufacturing and then donated to Habitat for Humanity of Mason County. Volunteers, along with professionals, helped improve the exteriors of the buildings.

The project now moves to Scottville where three homes on South Reinberg Avenue will receive assistance. The homes are each privately owned and the owners have to assist with improvements and also attend home ownership classes.
