Vehicle strikes house following crash.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A two-vehicle crash resulted in one of the vehicles striking a house Saturday morning. The crash occurred about 8 a.m. at the intersection of South Pere Marquette Highway and West Chauvez Road. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, a GMC Terrain SUV, driven by a 30-year-old Wayland man, was eastbound on Chauvez and disregarded the stop sign at the PM Highway intersection. The Terrain struck a southbound Pontiac Terrain minivan driven by a 73-year-old Ludington man. The GMC then jumped the curb and struck the house located at 4787 W. Chauvez Road.

Life EMS ambulance was dispatched to the scene but no one received injuries requiring transport to the hospital. Pere Marquette Township Fire Department also responded to the scene. Ludington Fire Department’s rescue unit was initially dispatched but disregarded prior to going en-route.

The driver of the GMC was cited by MCSO for disregarding a stop sign.
