The top five candidates of the 2016 Momentum Business Plan competition have been announced. The competition winner will receive $50,000, which will be revealed following a pitch by all five competitors on Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at West Shore Community College. The winner will also receive business advice from the panel judges.
The competitors, in no particular order include:
Stuart Family Organics, Custer
A family Company that has developed a vegan protein cookie line using organic Hard Red Winter Wheat that is grown on the family’s certified organic farm in Mason County, The owners plan to open a bakery and store front in downtown Ludington this fall.
KandyLand Dairy, Scottville
KandyLand Dairy raises dairy goats on a farm in the Scottville area for the sole purpose of producing milk for cheese and yogurt. KandyLand started with three goats and has now grown into a herd of over 100.
Makers Market of Ludington
The Makers Market is a place for people who love to create, innovate, get their hands dirty, problem solve and feel proud about what they have accomplished. It is a makerspace that started in downtown Ludington in February of 2016.
Love Wines, Ludington
Loves Wines Winery Started in January 2014 and is a family owned and operated winery in downtown Ludington specializing in unique hand crafted wine.
LakeFX Media, Ludington
