SCOTTVILLE — Water main construction of the 100 block of North Main Street will begin on Thursday of this week. For most of the summer, North Main Street, beginning at Broadway (the 200 block) north to Johnson Road, has been under construction. Side streets Broadway, James, Maple, and Beryl have also been under construction.
Beginning today, a “road closed to through traffic” sign will go up at the intersection of Main and State streets. Businesses on North Main Street will be accessible along with residences, Scottville City Manager Amy Williams said.
The 100 block of North Main Street will be milled Thursday and Friday and water main replacement will begin Monday, August 29, Williams said.
There will be no parking along the 100 block while this work is taking place. Patrons of businesses are asked to use the city’s west parking lot or the 100 block of South Main Street.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, this is a very important project to Scottville. For questions please contact city hall,” Williams said.
