Wal-Mart grant helps offset food pantry costs.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Wal-Mart Community Grant Program made a donation of $2,000 to the Mason County Mobile Food Truck Tuesday morning. The check was presented during the truck’s monthly food dispersal at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 121 N. Nelson Road.

lakeshore_resource_mobile_food_cornerstone_walmart_006The food truck is part of the Lakeshore Resource Network, whose mission is to provide a network of resources to support and strengthen families in our community by offering assistance for immediate needs alongside access to resources and opportunities for lasting solutions.

“One of our solutions towards this mission is to assist food pantries in our area,” said Monica Schuyler, executive director of the Pennies from Heaven Foundation, which helped create the network.  The donation from Walmart will be used to assist the Mason County Mobile Food Pantry.
