Beach closed after 5 people swept off breakwater. 

#MasonCountyNews #LudingtonLUDINGTON — Ludington Police Dept. has closed Stearns Park Beach and the north breakwater due to high winds and waves on Lake Michigan. Police Chief Mark Barnett reported that five people had been swept off the north breakwater this afternoon. They were assisted to safety by bystanders and no one was seriously injured. 

The area is closed until weather conditions improve, most likely Monday, Barnett said.
