SCOTTVILLE — Paying it forward. It’s a lesson that Ann Belisle learned early in life. “When growing up, an anonymous person did something very special for my family and I will never forget that,” she says. That generosity carries on to this day as Ann serves on the Habitat for Humanity board of director. “I believe in paying it forward. I think it’s important to share what you have with others.”

Ann brings that philosophy into the workplace, at Smith & Eddy Insurance, as well.

Ann is an agent and commercial account executive. “I get to meet a lot of people in my job and also work with a lot of this area’s diverse businesses.”

Ann grew up in the Custer/Scottville area and graduated from Mason County Eastern High School in 1986. She left the area after high school and traveled to various places before returning in 2007. She has two adult children, Zane and Ashlynn, has she has worked for Smith & Eddy for six years.

Since returning to the area and moving to Hamlin Township, Ann says she has grown to appreciate the natural beauty of west Michigan. “I love to be in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hiking,” she says. “I spend a lot of time with my yellow lab Cutter. It’s just a great place to live.”

In addition to serving on the Habitat board, Ann also is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. She also volunteers several other community events and organizations.
