SCOTTVILLE — Some streets in the city will be closed over the next week. Street work will take place at the intersection of South Main and Second streets starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 9. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, June 10.

Large vehicles, such as semi trucks and farm equipment, are being asked seek an alternative route when traveling on South Main Street during that time. Road closure signs notifying the alternative routes will be placed at South Scottville and Chauvez roads, Columbia and Second streets and South Main Street south of First Street.

Local traffic, including emergency vehicles, should be able to go through the intersection throughout most of the construction, according to City Manager Amy Williams.

Beginning Monday, June 13, First Street will be closed to all traffic in the curves on the southwest side of town. First Street traffic will need to use US 10-31 to Amber or Gordon roads. Road closure signs will be placed on First Street west of Reinberg Avenue and also at Amber and Gordon roads. Work is expected to take a week.
