Alleged drunk driver wakes up fighting police.

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 58-year-old Ludington woman was arrested Sunday, Feb. 28, at 11:46 p.m. after Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a vehicle stuck in a field near Freeman Road west of US 31.

“Upon arrival, a female was found passed out behind the wheel,” said Sheriff Kim Cole. “When deputies attempted to wake her, she fought with deputies and attempted to kick out the patrol car windows.”

The woman was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated (OWI) and resisting and opposing police.

Another alleged intoxicated driver was arrested Sunday at 4:53 p.m. after deputies responded to a vehicle blocking the roadway at US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway in Pere Marquette Township. The driver, who is a 27-year-old Ludington man, was located in Ludington a short time later passed out in a stairwell. He was charged with second-offense OWI, disorderly, open intoxicants and for absconding a warrant.

– 6:03 p.m.,  (MCSO), a 30-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, Rowe and Ludington, City of Ludington.

Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016:

– 2:17 a.m., (MCSO), a 42-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for OWI, possession of a schedule 2 narcotic and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop, PM Hwy. and Sixth St., PM Township.

– 2:29 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $18.30 in fuel stolen, 5900 block of W. US 10 — Ludington EZ Mart, PM Township.

– 12:38 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $20 in fuel stolen, 5900 block of W. US 10 — Ludington EZ Mart, PM Township.

– 5:50 p.m., (MCSO), a 16-year-old Ludington juvenile was cited in juvenile court for reckless driving after reportedly nearly striking another vehicle head-on, M 116 near Piney Ridge Road, Hamlin Township.

– 6:55 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, US 10-31 and Gordon Road, Amber Township.

– 10:12 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injuries, Lincoln Road near Mavis Road, Hamlin Township. A motorist stopped her vehicle roadside with flashers on when she was struck by another vehicle that fled the scene.
