One injured in US 31 crash.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A 56-year-old Victory Township woman received head injuries following a two vehicle crash Sunday morning on U.S. 31 between Hansen and Decker roads.

According to deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when a northbound Toyota Tacoma pickup, driven by a 55-year-old Ludington man, apparently rear-ended a Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by a 58-year-old Victory Township man.

The Cavalier was stopped and attempting to make a left turn into a driveway when the crash occurred. Neither driver was injured. The victim was a passenger in the Cavalier. She was transported to a Grand Rapids hospital by AeroMed helicopter, which landed at Mason County Central Middle School parking lot.

On scene were MCSO, Scottville Fire Dept., Custer Fire Dept., Michigan State Police, Pere Marquette Fire Dept., Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources conservation officers and Life EMS ambulance.

The crash is under investigation.
