CUSTER — Residents of the Village of Custer will be asked their thoughts on what type of sculpture should be on display in the village. The sculpture will be part of the Mason County Sculpture Trail, which currently has sculptures predominantly in Ludington and also at Ludington State Park.

The Village of Fountain is currently in the process of building a lumber heritage themed sculpture. The Scottville Planning Commission met Tuesday night and tabled discussion on the sculpture for the city, at the request of the Mason County Cultural Economic Committee. City Manager Amy Williams told the planning commission that the committee was working on developing a music heritage trail; several residents have expressed that the Scottville sculpture should be music or Clown Band themed.
