14-year-old girl allegedly brings marijuana to school, fights police

SCOTTVILLE — A 14-year-old Branch girl was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to juvenile court authorities after she was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana at Mason County Central Middle School Thursday, Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m., said Sheriff Kim Cole.

“When MCSO deputies were called to the school, she fought them and attempted to kick the window out of one of the patrol car windows,” the sheriff said. The girl faces charges of possession of marijuana and resisting and opposing police.

2:42 a.m., a 46-year-old Crystal River, Florida man was arrested for an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant out of Mecosta County, US-10 and Pere Marquette Hwy., PM Township.

7:14 a.m., traffic hazard, a semi-truck and trailer separated leaving the trailer blocking both westbound lanes of US-10, at the US-10 and US-31 bypass, Amber Township.

7:20 a.m., two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US-10 near US-31 bypass, Amber Township.

1:14 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injuries, Conrad and Meyerstoads, PM Township.

2:47 p.m., unwanted person, subject was reportedly causing a disturbance and eventually left, 100 block of S. PM Hwy., PM Township.

5:04 p.m., scam, complainant received two checks in the mail for more than $7,000 and was asked to cash the checks for another individual, complainant did not do as asked, Wildwood Crossing, Amber Township.

7:30 p.m., retail fraud, suspect fled when approached by Ludington Police, Walmart, 4800 block of W. US-10, PM Township.

8:01 p.m. , alarm activation/wires down, Summit Township.
