LUDINGTON — November is Alzheimer’s Awareness month and Safe Harbor Credit Union is being proactive about it. “We are not only training ourselves, but we are bringing in someone from the Alzheimer’s Association to teach our members about the 10 signs of the disease and how you can help,” said Kyle Gurzynski, Safe Harbor Credit Union operations manager.

The training will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 from noon to 1 p.m. at the credit union board room, 1200 E. Tinkham Ave. There is a sign up sheet in the lobby for any members or family members who would like to attend. The sheet will be available until Oct. 28. There is no cost for the training.

Safe Harbor thinks it’s extremely important for everyone to be educated something as serious as this,” Gurzynski said. “Many of us have experienced how Alzheimer’s can affect our lives. Whether that be a family member, a friend, a co-worker, or someone you help on a regular basis, we can help them if we can identify the 10 signs of Alzheimer’s.

“Safe Harbor as a staff has already gone through this training and we found it to be extremely beneficial, so we wanted to open this up to our members and their family members. We encourage our members and their families to take advantage of this training at no cost to you.
