PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 34-year-old Ludington woman was injured after her vehicle was involved in a crash at the intersection of Jebavy Drive and Rasmussen Road Friday afternoon. The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. when the northbound Jeep Cherokee driven by the Ludington woman was stuck by a Toyota Camry attempting to make a left-hand turn from Rasmussen onto South Jebavy Drive.

Deputies on the scene said the driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Toyota was driven by a 24-year-old Scottville woman with two passengers, a 32-year-old Ferry Township, Oceana County male and the driver’s 2-year-old son.

The driver of the Jeep was trapped in the vehicle and extrication equipment from Ludington Fire Department was used to remove the driver side doors; she was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. The passenger of the Toyota suffered minor injuries but did not require medical transportation. The others involved were not injured.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Twp. Fire Dept., Ludington Fire Dept. and Life EMS.

Sheriff deputies said they were likely to issue a citation of failure to yield the right-of-way to the driver of the Toyota.
