79th District Court sentencings and dismissals; 7 arrested in sting operations for selling tobacco to minors

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

Scott Peter Nichols, 56, of 11796 N. Amber Rd., Grant Township, was found guilty Aug. 5 of assault and battery. He was sentenced to 30 days discretionary jail for six months and $198 in fines and costs. One count of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.

Erin Nicole Granlund, 17, of 208 E. Filer St., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 6 of smoking – use/possess tobacco by a minor and sentenced to $185 in fines and costs.

Angela Faye Rodriguez, 37, of 2267 Custer Rd., Custer Township, was found guilty Aug. 4 of possession of marijuana and driving while license not valid. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; $225 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for two years for count 1; 90 days discretionary jail for two years for count 2; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drugs tests. One count of second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) and one count of improper transport of medical marijuana were dismissed.

Paige Marie Fisher, 25, of 2270 W. Decker Rd., Victory Township, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Angela Kay Cousins, 45, of 414 N. Main St., Scottville, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Jenie Lee Baxter, 37, of 2945 Woods Rd., Branch Township, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Jo Anne Munoz, 58, of 3677 S. Pere Marquette, Lot 31, Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Sharon Louise Haas, 63, of 404 E. Pere Marquette St., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Beverly Ann Agbay, 70, of 5120 N. Foster Rd., was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Marsha Lynn Kissell, 59, of 908 N. Emily St., Apt. A2, Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 6 of sting – selling tobacco to a minor and sentenced to $260 in fines and costs.

Linsey Danielle Lewandowski, 29, of 5732 Limouze, P.M. Township, was found guilty Aug. 4 of second-offense operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 34 days in jail with credit for four days served; must report to jail within four months or attend Impact Weekend and follow recommendations; vehicle immobilization/forfeiture; $1,070 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs.

Terry Joseph Stock, 48, of 918 E. Filburn Rd., Custer Township, was found guilty Aug. 4 of lying to a peace officer. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year and $535 in fines and costs. Upon payment of fines and costs, discretionary term will be reduced to six months.

Amanda Ann Mezeske, 29, of 713 Osceola Ave., Big Rapids, was found guilty Aug. 4 of operating while impaired by a controlled substance. She was sentenced to 12 days in jail with credit for 12 days served; $640 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs and drug tests. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). In a separate file, she was found guilty of false information to a police officer and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for two years; $275 in fines and costs; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs and drug tests. Sentences are concurrent. One count of second-offense DWLS dismissed.

Vincent Scott Williams, 38, of 29819 Magnolia Dr., Flat Rock, Mich., pleaded no contest Aug. 4 to disorderly and was sentenced to $285 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.

Anthony James Calkin, 58, of 117 E. Sauble Dr., Free Soil Township, pleaded no contest Aug. 4 to assault and battery. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must return to foster care and remain on best behavior.

Jeffrey Kenneth Penny, 54, of 2546 E. Maple St., Free Soil, pleaded no contest Aug. 4 to domestic violence. He was sentenced to outpatient treatment; $905 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; $905 in fines and costs or perform 50 hours of community service; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random PBTs.

Reenya Bilal-Clinton Burrell, 23, of 410 S. Washington Ave., Ludington, was found guilty Aug. 4 of second-offense domestic violence and sentenced to four days in jail with credit for four days served; outpatient treatment; $840 in fines and costs or 42 hours community service; one year discretionary jail for two years; and no alcohol/drugs.

Angela Mae Oles, 29, of 115 32nd SW, Wyoming, Mich., was found guilty Aug. 4 of third-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $600 in fines and costs; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year. Restitution is reserved.

Dismissals

Adam Paul Nead, 28, of 206 W. Third St., Scottville, one count of domestic violence dismissed Aug. 4. “Further prosecution of this matter does not promote the interests of justice,” his court file states.

Danielle Renae Perow, 27, of 1038 Lancer Lane, Lot 43, P.M. Township, one count of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed Aug. 4. “Defendant pleaded guilty to a lesser charge,” her court file states.
