Scottville man allegedly fights with police after smashing vehicle window, assault

AMBER TWP. — A 40-year-old Scottville man was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies on charges of assault, damaged property and resisting and opposing police Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 7:13 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Conrad Road after he allegedly smashed the window out of a vehicle and assaulted a 26-year-old Walhalla man. During his arrest the suspect fought with two MCSO deputies and a Michigan State Police trooper from the Hart post, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

– 12:56 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US-10 and Jebavy Dr., Pere Marquette Twp.

– 6:30 p.m., car/deer crash, no injuries, Jebavy Dr. and Angling Rd., Hamlin Twp.
