SCOTTVILLE – Continuing the Tuesday Night Concert Series, the Scottville Clown Band Shell will feature Bud Summers, a bluesy rock musician from St. Louis, Missouri.

Summers was born with music in his blood. Through his father, a jazz bassist and mother a public school music teacher, he was exposed to music at an early age. Though he tinkered with the piano and violin, his love affair with musical instruments began when he picked up a second hand guitar. He studied classical guitar and played in a college jazz band at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where he earned a B.A. in Music Performance.

Having played with numerous bands in the past, including “Tizzy,” “Calson,” “Night Train,” and “The Stingers,” Summers has shown his versatility in genre ranging from 80’s rock to country to blues to rock. In August of 2006, he decided to venture out on his own and now plays regularly in St. Louis, Chicago, Nashville and various cities in Michigan.

Though he plays some cover songs, Summers also writes his own music and has recorded and released five albums, including “Golden” in 2008, “Eons” in 2010, a live recording at Chicago’s Elbo Room in 2011, a holiday compilation called “Midnight Clear” in 2012 and “The Great Divide” in 2014.

Tuesday night’s concert will begin at 7p.m. and is guaranteed to be an evening of excellent music with Bud Summers. For more information on his upcoming gigs in the area, visit www.budsummers.com.
