LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Tiera Leigh Pierce, 35, of 6531 Beech St., Hamlin Township, was found guilty June 30 of fourth-degree child abuse. She was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for 15 days served; $840 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; random alcohol testing; must comply with all recommendations/programs outlined by the Department of Human Services (DHS); and must continue with all mental health counseling.

– Melvin Arthur Olson, 38, of 5065 S. Schwass Rd., Riverton Township, was found guilty June 30 of fourth-degree child abuse. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $295 in fines and costs or 30 hours of community service; and 93 days discretionary jail for one year.

– Jared Daniel Koopman, 24, of 47 E. Maxlow Ave., Hazel Park, Mich., was found guilty July 6 of driving while license expire and sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $225 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Nathan Robert Larson, 39, of 2611 W. First St., Amber Township, was found guilty June 30 of possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to $208 in fines and costs; one year discretionary jail for one year; and driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 30 days. In a separate file, he was found guilty June 30 of possession of marijuana and sentenced to $738 in fines and costs;  year discretionary jail for one year; and driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 30 days. Terms are concurrent.

– Jeremy Jason Bonnuea, 41, of 6765 Ann St., Pere Marquette Township, was found guilty June 30 of disorderly – trespassing/prowling and sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $125 in fines and costs.

– Joseph R. Greiner, 51, of 306 E. Tinkham Ave., Ludington, was found guilty July 1 of allowing a person to drive in violation and sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $335 in fines and costs.

– Jacob Matthew Howe, 22, of 2698 S. Morton Rd., Riverton Township, was found guilty June 30 of controlled substance use – non-narcotic. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; $738 in fines and costs; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; one year discretionary jail for one year; no alcohol/drugs; random drug/alcohol testing; and must continue counseling efforts with behavioral health. One count of delivery/manufacture narcotic/cocaine dismissed.

Dismissals

– Brandon John Moran, 27, of 1963 N. Victory Corner Rd., Amber Township, one count of malicious destruction of property (MDOP) less than $200 was dismissed June 29. “Restitution has been paid,” court records state. “The ends of justice do not require further prosecution at this time.”

– Kyle Scott Janicki, 24, no address listed, one count of second-offense DWLS dismissed July 6 “per plea agreement,” court records state.
